Chapter 1

Brett

I stared at the blonde in front of ested she lay in a toaster at least twice a week, and her hair color was everything but natural As were her lips

Did every wo way too accessible I preferred my women natural

“You don’t have any experience as an executive assistant,” I said

“I worked as a receptionist at a big company,” she replied

“No, I see that But I need you to be able to handle the workload”

“But it’s an internship,” she said “You’ll teach ht?”

I shook my head “The internship is not so that you can learn how to be an EA It’s so that I can see if I want you as my EA”

She frowned “I don’t understand,” she said “Isn’t that what probationary periods are for?”

I sighed “Not in this case I’ht fit for the job”

The blonde frowned, and I expected her to ner handbag at her feet and marched out of my office

I sat back in hed So far, every one of them had been overconfident and underqualified, with the audacity to think I wouldn’t be able to tell the two apart I had lost oing to look like with all of them?

If I didn’t need an executive assistant, I would have sent the rest of the of bis to do with h this Maybe I had to consider another route

Before calling the next girl in, I stood up and crackedday

“I’ a short break, Susan,” I said to my secretary “I’ll be back in fifteen minutes if you can have the next one ready”

“How is it going?” Shane asked when I walked out of the interview room to take a break

“Fuck, I’m so over it”
