Rane felt a sharp stab of guilt His mother was alive—he could visit her any time he wished—but he hadn’t seen her, or anyone else in his faht aside, he followed Savanah outside, waited while she locked the front door, then walked her to his car He held the door open for her, then went around to the driver’s side Sliding behind the wheel, he turned the key in the ignition and the engine purred to life

Rane glanced at her, one brow lifted “Does what hurt?” he asked as he pulled away from the curb

“When you shift into the wolf Does it hurt?”

“Where does your clothing go?”

Rane bought their tickets and they went into the theater He wrinkled his nose at the sentle to eat or drink, relieved when all she asked for was a small Coke
